Cat Thomas, MAT, is an Artist & Expressive Arts Facilitator based out of Chattanooga, TN.

Over 15 years ago, during a particularly overwhelming point in life where everything seemed to be falling apart, Cat began her spiritual journey with yoga and meditation and intuitively began using art and writing as a therapeutic tool in her personal life. Once she experienced the true potential art and writing have to heal mind, body & spirit, Cat decided to take a weekend long intensive in expressive arts at the Expressive Arts Florida Institute in Sarasota, FL. After taking her first class, she knew her purpose was not only to create her own art, but to help others through the arts as well.

She then enrolled in the 2 year training in intermodal expressive arts offered at EAFI, and soon after began working at Moffitt Cancer Center as an Artist in Residence helping others reconnect with their creativity through the use of expressive arts. She also worked with the South Seminole Heights Neighborhood Association to create an intersection mural, which you can read more about here.

Since then, Cat has worked with 1000s of people helping them heal through the arts and specializes in working with beginners with no previous art experience who want to learn how to use art as a self-care tool.

Her main focuses are primarily stress relief and relaxation, reducing overwhelm and reconnecting with the inner wisdom innate in all of us.

β€œI found I could say things with colour and shapes that I couldn’t say any other way – things I had no words for.”
